Monochrome

Containing or using only a single color to reflect or emit light (or other radiation) known to be of a single wavelength or frequency. In a color scheme, all colors of a single hue, by extension from use from throughout its range that includes tints, tones, and shades.

Grey

Recognized of an intermediate lacking hue, an achromatic (of or without color) between black and white, neutral or as of ashes or an overcast sky, commonly associated with conformity, old age, uncertainty, modesty, indifference, or boredom, sadness.

Scale

Each single sample, a pixel/dot, carries only intensity information, abstractly defined as a binary, numeric, spread or range between the absolutes, complete or absent reflection, and/or illumination.
