2000 BC SCOTLAND STONE SPHERES
Carved stone spheres, typically around 7 cm across with anywhere from 3 to 160 protruding knobs, found mainly in Scotland and dated to the late Neolithic, possibly extending into the Iron Age. One proposal reads their regular geometry as an early, practical encounter with forms later formalised by Plato as the five regular solids.
