D5 Broadcast: a collage of the work in this chapter

Seek and observe, record, manipulate, rearrange, adjust, restructure, prepare, package, or distribute a final mastered video production.

Capture

Consider lighting, audio, and video while shooting motion images onto digital media, video tape, direct to disk, or solid state storage, tapeless camcorder, or recently, streaming media. Equivalent in process to filmmaking, but images record electronically instead of film stock.

Edit

Prepare, correct, revise, and adapt from a range of scripted or live action scenes or clips. Rework the content of corporate communication, training, education, videotaping conferences and conventions, or from varied products, services, sales, documentary or fictional stories.

Transmit

Send simultaneous signals, messages, images, sound and other forms of new media to all or a sub-set of intended recipients.

Bruce Dunn

C.E.O. / Executive Producer,
Dunn Enterprizes of Florida

"Retired from three decades leadership, in roles of Executive Producer, V.P., and General Manager, Daytona Beach, WDSC-TV PBS 15, Penn State's Sports Network, and Public Broadcasting, solid principles and practices emerged during hundreds of contracts with networks BET, ABC, NBC, CBS and ESPN. As a College of Business Administration broadcast media instructor I taught nearly 300 students in ten years, offering "hands on" studio production, working their passion, reinventing themselves, and developing an art of networking. It's important to stay sharp with evolving technology, editing tools, or creative trends, working with the students of Bethune-Cookman, seven annual international Tyrone-Donegal Partnership's with Ireland, "Photoshop Training" programs with Barton James, and personal projects of Leonel Fernandez, President of the Dominican Republic."
