Color Theory (Color Volume)

Color Theory (Color Volume)

• Color Theory (3D Volume or Models) The "L,a,b" cube, "HSV" plate, two "HSV"geometries: cone, cylinder.
• "H" is hue, "L" and "V" are brightness (similarly called luminance or value) and "S" is saturation.
•
• A scientifically modern adaptation of the Munsel Color System
•
• Various industries and models use interchangeable words for the same thing (this can be confusing):
• Circumference - Hue Color, Wavelength, Rainbow, Spectrum
• Radius - Saturation, Intensity Purity, Chroma (think amount of drops of color into bucket of white paint)
• Axis - Value, Lightness, Brightness, Luminance, Grey Scale, Neutral Density
