1682 AD GERMANY JAKOB BOHME PHILOSOPHY

1682 AD GERMANY JAKOB BOHME PHILOSOPHY

A page from Theosophische Wercken, the first collected German edition of Jacob Boehme's writings, printed at Amsterdam in 1682 under the direction of Johann Georg Gichtel, a devoted follower of Boehme's thought living there in exile. The volume gathered Boehme's mystical theology alongside a biography and three engraved plates, fixing the shape in which his ideas reached readers across the following centuries.
