1567 AD GERMANY HANS LENCKER PERSPECTIVA LITERIA

1567 AD GERMANY HANS LENCKER PERSPECTIVA LITERIA

A plate from Perspectiva Literaria, Hans Lencker's 1567 treatise constructing the full Latin alphabet in geometric perspective, engraved by Matthias Zundt after Lencker's drawings and printed at Nuremberg by Ulrich Neuber. Lencker was a Nuremberg goldsmith as well as a perspective theorist, and his book preceded by a year the more famous Perspectiva Corporum Regularium of his friend Wenzel Jamnitzer.
