The Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) legally requires a balance sheet, reflecting periodic changes in a company's worth, income and cash flow statements, managerial statements and analysis of past and predicted performance. Details must be made public regarding products and services, domestic and foreign markets, and the backgrounds of leadership, directors and executive officers.

Stakeholder

Traditionally a dry, factual legal obligation, more recent annual reports have evolved into colorful, magazine-like, glossy documents, considered as a public relations opportunity targeting a larger audience.
